Best Cars Showcased At GITEX 2025 — Cars That Stole The Spotlight

GITEX Global 2025 turned the Dubai World Trade Centre into a live preview of tomorrow’s mobility. From self-driving cars and AI patrol vehicles to flying taxis, the event showcased how technology and transport are becoming one.

Traditionally known for tech and AI innovations, GITEX this year proved that the future of mobility belongs to smart, electric, and autonomous vehicles. Between 13–17 October, global and regional leaders revealed models that think, drive, and even take flight — strengthening the UAE’s growing position as a world hub for advanced mobility.

Tensor RoboCar

The biggest crowd at GITEX gathered around the Tensor RoboCar, the world’s first fully autonomous electric vehicle built for personal ownership. Operating at Level-4 autonomy, it needs no steering wheel or pedals, just a mobile app to control it.

Tensor calls it “hands-off, eyes-off, mind-off” driving. The RoboCar focuses on data privacy, keeping all user data inside the vehicle with encrypted communication between the car and the owner.

Vietnamese sources suggest VinFast could be the production partner, though not been confirmed. Pre-orders open in 2026, with UAE deliveries later that year, before expansion to the US and Europe.

South Korea and UAE Partner for Level-4 Tech

UAE’s Space42 teamed up with South Korea’s Autonomous A2Z to launch a Level-4 autonomous vehicle based on the Kia PV5. The model made its world debut at GITEX after its planned APEC 2025 appearance.

The duo also announced an Abu Dhabi joint venture to expand self-driving solutions across the Middle East and Africa. Their TXAI robotaxi service has already logged 600,000 km and 20,000 passenger trips in Abu Dhabi, paving the way for wider deployment.

Mercedes CONCEPT AMG GT XX

Mercedes-Benz showcased the CONCEPT AMG GT XX, a striking electric hypercar delivering over 1,300 hp, top speeds above 360 km/h, and ultra-fast charging that adds 400 km in five minutes.

The prototype set 25 endurance records at Italy’s Nardò track, covering 40,075 km in under eight days. It previews the upcoming AMG.EA platform that will power future high-performance EVs, challenging the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT.

AI Police Vehicles Hit Dubai Streets

The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) presented AI-powered patrol cars that can detect residency and visa violators in real-time. Equipped with six cameras and 360-degree coverage, these electric vehicles will start patrolling Dubai in 2026.

K2 Mobility also revealed the Eneron Magnus, a hybrid patrol car with Level B6 ballistic protection. It reaches 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds and uses dual Nvidia Orin processors for real-time AI analysis, ideal for both city and tactical use.

RAAD: The Smart Emergency 4×4

Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority and K2 introduced the RAAD, an AI-powered all-terrain 4×4 designed for next-generation emergency response. It carries dual drones, a quadruped robot, and processes thermal and sensor data using NVIDIA Orin chips.

Officials said RAAD can assess incidents before human teams arrive, saving valuable minutes during critical emergencies.

AI Becomes the Driving Instructor

Yas Driving Academy, in partnership with Tatweer, launched the world’s first Autonomous Training Vehicle. It can train drivers without a human instructor, using AI to analyse performance, give feedback, and ensure safety.

This innovation aims to standardise driver training and make learning safer and more efficient across the UAE.

Flying Cars Arrive in Dubai

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) unveiled two electric flying vehicles:

• Joby S4 Aerial Taxi: Fully electric, seats four passengers plus a pilot, with a 161-km range and 322-km/h top speed. A trip from Dubai Airport to Palm Jumeirah takes 10 minutes. Commercial flights start in early 2026.
• Aridge: A modular eVTOL that shifts from a ground vehicle to a flying drone. A live demo over Palm Jumeirah wowed spectators. Xpeng confirmed around 600 pre-orders across the Middle East after its debut.

The AI-Powered Trackless Tram

RTA also revealed a Trackless Tram, guided by AI and IoT systems rather than fixed rails. It can adapt routes to reduce congestion and improve flexibility, offering smarter city transport without heavy rail infrastructure.

Building a Connected Mobility Ecosystem

The automotive section of GITEX 2025 was more than a showcase; it reflected the UAE’s plan to lead global smart mobility. The e& enterprise pavilion displayed a mix of air taxis, electric cars, and self-driving trucks connected by a Smart Vehicle Network that reduces delays by 25%.

Experts said this marks a shift from individual vehicles to an intelligent ecosystem where AI, infrastructure, and mobility work as one.

With Tensor preparing pre-orders, Space42 scaling its robotaxi network, and RTA gearing up for commercial air taxis, the UAE’s vision for transport is becoming a reality.

The question now isn’t if autonomous and electric vehicles will change our cities — but how soon the world will follow the UAE’s lead.
